Are you interested in exploring leadership from many perspectives? The iWIL talks will help you do just that. We’ll give you a 20 minute introduction on a different facet of leadership each time we meet. Following this mini-lecture, a conversation café will give you a chance to explore what you’ve just learned with a diverse group of women. You’ll leave with a deeper understanding of leadership and yourself.
Wednesday November 20th, 2013 7 p.m.
Susan Macphail is the director at My Sisters’ Place, a transitional support day centre for women who are facing homelessness- a part of WOTCH Community Mental Health Services.
Susan is a feminist and activist who has dedicated her forty year career to improving the quality of life for women and girls, focusing in particular on issues of equity, violence against women and children, aboriginal women’s rights and social justice.
Susan will speak about: ”Leadership for the Next Seven Generations”: Women bring an essential set of values, perspectives and strengths to leadership that our world needs now. It takes courage to work from a place of trust that the best decisions evolve from collaboration, creativity, compassion, empowerment, and from working side by side in communities, from the ground up, including everyone and all beings.
