iWIL TALKs

Are you interested in exploring leadership from many perspectives?  The iWIL talks will help you do just that.  We’ll give you a 20 minute introduction on a different facet of leadership each time we meet.  Following this mini-lecture, a conversation café will give you a chance to explore what you’ve just learned with a diverse group of women.  You’ll leave with a deeper understanding of leadership and yourself.

  • Each TALK takes place in the Merici Lounge from 7:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.
  • Admission is PWYC (pay what you can); coffee & refreshments will be served. Free Parking.

Leading the Way Through Community Economic Development
and Social Enterprise

Lisa will discuss our individual ability to affect ‘well-being’ within community Economic Development, including Social Enterprise and in the context of the greater economy. She will address how the language of well-being can better inform our conversations and debates regarding economy and growing inclusive communities.

LISA’S BIO: Citizen, mother, advocate, goddess – oops!, student.  For over 25 years, Lisa has been an advocate and community organizer for a wide range social justice, environmental, political and women’s issues. She likes startups and grassroots initiatives and webs of collaboration and knowledge mobilization. After many successful years in the business/retail sector, Lisa discovered that her professional expertise could be combined with her justice commitments to offer a way for both interests to work together for social change. As such, she recently enrolled in the Community Economic Development program at Concordia University in Montreal.
